I live between Folkestone and Dover in Kent and we have a memorial nearby to the RAF who flew in the Battle of Britain.
As it is the annual commemoration ceremony I have spent the morning chatting to some of the last surviving pilots who flew and it is a really humbling experience to hear them talk about stuff that they remember as if it was yesterday. Very few lasted more than a few months and they said they all knew they were going to die up there, most of their friends died and sometimes they can't understand why it didn't happen to them, just luck...
As i type this i have a Spitfire and Hurricane doing a display over my house and despite this being an arcade forum I really just felt like putting something up so people remember today what these guys went through, I am not sure I would have had the guts myself...
