After repairing my Crystal Maze machines I decided I would do a spot of maintenance. I think I have just caught these in time. In my first board battery one is deciding whether to spill its guts out over the PCB. In my second board battery two has already gone for it. The cathode pin had fused to the soldering eye and took about 10 minutes of flux heating to remove the thing. The innards also caught a few components, lucky though not enough to kill anything.
Keep an eye an out for these wretched on board batteries.
And replaced!
