My mate was happy using his 1 slot and the pin 8 (STOP Mode) became locked on. I've checked pin 8 for continuity and it checks out fine.

Any ideas

Do you mean the dip switches?, as it looks like you've got the 8th dip down in the pictures compared to all the other dips being up...

That would make the system pause, done it myself by accident once and spent ages before I realised the system wasnt crashed it was I just put the 8th dip down by accident...

Also if the dip is indeed switched to off ie up like the others then you shouldn’t have continuity on the solder blobs below the dips on the pcb below only if it’s set to on....

If the dip array is faulty and providing continuity on 8 even though it’s set to off I am thinking unless someone says otherwise you could desolder that dip array off the board & see then....but then you’ve got all dips off permanently steling12021-02-26 14:24:44

Ah ok, if you are getting continuity from the undersides solder spots on pin 8 whilst the dip is up then the switches are likely faulty I would have thought unless someone else can offer another suggestion...

I’m assuming you don’t have continuity on any of the other dips whilst up?....if so i would prob desolder that dip array off for the time being and see if it works then....

Ah guess the issue isn’t with dips themselves then, prob a more serious issue I’d expect, I’m not sure what else to suggest tbh, I’ll let you know if I think of anything when I look at my mvs boards

Are all the pullup resistors present on the bottom side of the DIP?

Next step is checking continuity from the DIP to the buffer and to the 68K.
