Hi all,
Here's a few pictures of the "second" favourite thing in my back garden.

Thanks for that, Dave.
Whenever I was short of something to do, I'd go down and paint a few more circles on the walls. It doesn't take long for it to heat up in there when all the machines are running!

I have been trying to do another arcade for 10 years , I had one years ago smaller than yours just one Fruity , 1 arcade machine and a darts board and bar. I loved it. When i moved i vowed to do it all again and never have. I have an a massive double integral garage that has nothing but crap in it. Keep saying I will do it , JUst mentioned it to the wife after seeing your post. My way of converting her is to add "We would be adding a separate wash room for you dont forget" lol.

Dave.

These little escapes must benefit our partners too - they keep us from being under their feet. Keep pestering her!

My arcade area is situated at the bottom end of a 35ft concrete garage and used to be my Dad's old workshop. Because he's no longer around and I'm not great with tools or engineering, I decided to clear it all out and turn it into something I could actually use.

(I know it's off topic but the rest of the building is a 25ft home cinema equipped with 4K and 35mm)

Thanks Kingtreelo. Oh, I definitely needed variety. That's the main reason why I use multi-game emulators rather than having an original cabinet with just the one game installed. I'm sure it would get tiresome playing the same game all the time (no matter how much you love it)

Unfortunately, this picture is a few weeks old and now my Crystal Maze machine is in need of a new screen (it used to flicker and now it won't even turn on) - This crappy JPM machine that I've been posting about is currently in it's place.

I can't wait to get my Crystal Maze back into it's usual spot. It's certainly my favourite of them all. I used to play one at my local back in the 90's. Happy times!

Lol. Thanks Dave. Wow, Back to the Future - an excellent choice.

(If you like tinkering, I have a few faulty fruit machines to get your project started!)

Haha thanks for the offer Pete , I have repaired multiple fruits in the past. My last was my pride and Joy a 1991 Only Fools And Horses - Dells millions. I had to sell it when I moved. Gutted !

Dave.

Ouch, that must have hurt letting that one go.

I believe these are just error codes so probably easy fixes for somebody who knows what they're doing. The trouble is, with only having a car for transport, it makes every machine delivered here a permanent fixture!

Man, that cinema is cool! I couldn't decide what 80s classic to watch next. Just dont watch a film called "Demons" as everyone gets killed in the cinema!

The older ones needed resetting once an error had occured. When You moves a mchine you always had to reset the damn things. Easy on the old one not sure on the newer. If you need help fixing there are a few on here who maybe able to help - depending on the error codes.

Simon I will watch Demons as dont remeber that one. I remember "The Hand" think it was a 70's one , scared the living bajeebers out of me !!! lol

I reckon we are all going round Petes Christmas day to watch Gremlins !!!

Can we have a pick of the screen ??

Dave.

Thanks Chopper79. I'll avoid that title!

It's great to be able to watch a film without strangers texting, talking or kicking the back of your seat throughout the film. I prefer to wait for something to be released on 4K and watch it in there with no disturbances rather than go to the public cinema. (Dolby Atmos sound system now installed)

Thanks Dave. I'll take a look at those codes over the weekend.

(Oh, you're always welcome to the cinema but sadly there's just the one screen!)

Lovely stuff!!

By the way, on the subject of fruit machines and arcades, ever seen this amazing project?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dTWk4gIJCuM

The project thread and downloads are over at Desert Island Fruits.

It deserves a separate thread but maybe there already is one. Nothing turned up with a search but I'm not sure whether to trust that.pubjoe2022-10-07 13:09:10
