Hi,

I obtained some time ago a Mystic Riders that had been converted to
Hook (with no sound of course due to the encrypted sound cpu) anyway
I want to convert it back to Mystic Riders.

Right, so Hook uses 8meg gfx roms so there was a jumper removed and
some wire hacks under the pcb. I removed the wires and re-installed
the missing jumper.

I burnt all the roms and installed them.

The game powers up, does self test and then fails on ROM L1 and ROM H1

H0-L0 and L1-H1 are all 2meg program roms.

Here is where the problem lies .....

Hook uses 2meg for H0-L0 and 1meg for H1-L1, however on the hack 2meg
roms were used for all 4

As its only H1-L1 that are failing, i'm sure it is no coincidence
that these roms are different sizes between Hook and Mystic Riders.

As far as I can see, none of the other jumpers have been changed,
they all apear to be in the factory position.

Now bloodf has said to me that many M92 boards have factory fitted
mods under the pcb. It is quite possible then that the hacker has
removed factory mods to replace with his mods, or that I have removed
a factory mod assuming it to be a hack (pretty sure what i removed
was hacks though)

What I need is either someone with a mystic riders pcb to take some
pictures of the under side of the rom pcb or someone with knowledge
of M92 hardware to check the jumpers out for me.

Thanks in advance for any help

Luke
