Hello,

Here I have this board. All it dose is some activity on program roms for about 2 seconds and thats it. I already changed most of the caps. I even changed the CPU with no difference at all.

Anybody has any experience with this boards? All I can find in internet is caps problems.

Thanks a lot.

Pressing on the C416 IC at 3f makes the board to boot. Huge success so far. I'll try to reflow it now and hope for an win.

This custom IC handels the shared sram so the cpu can have some too.

I can now declare thia game as dead. I brought the board to an mobile phones repair shop because they claimd they have the right tools to reflow such things. All I got after is one brocken pad and some bent pins. I now had myself a go and removed the IC to check where the missing pad leads and an attempt was made so solder it back on. Now it dose even less than it did before.
Either the heat killed it or something else.
Rest in peace Namco game.

Eugh I don't know how repair places like these stay in business, I guess charging for breaking stuff even more. Shame as it was an easy fix for anyone that knows what they're doing.

So I had another go toady. I soldered every single pin with my soldering iron since hot air didn't help.
Using an preicsion knife I pressed every pin againt the pcb then soldered it. The board now boots just fine and works great. Sometimes one needs some more patience. A lot more.
One more game saved 🥳
