The new control panels are ready to be installed.

I’m at the back end of this project now. I’m having a black stainless steel cabinet fabricated that will match the design of the lower half of the cabs and will sit in between the two of them to house the Airlink step down and hide the linking cables as well as storage for PCB’s.

They will be the first two cabinets to go into my home arcade garage conversion. I’m aiming for about 10-15 in there, and a pair of NAMCO Grigio will likely be my next project.

Aka to Blue is really good.

I like how the exA system menu works too. I’ve only got one game here, but the selection screen is decent. The sub 1 frame of input lag is actually insane.

The project is complete barring a JVS cable to enable 3 and 4 player controls. That will arrive tomorrow. Oh and a TAITO stool for the right one is due to arrive in August.

CPS-II on the left, NESiCA Live on the right.

It could well be done. A dedicated 4-Up cab is what I’ve been considering it for my next project using either this pair of Noir or the two Grigio that I’m bringing over. I guess that I could implement one giant screen instead of a 2x2 configuration.

We’re having a family Muscle Bomber Duo tournament tomorrow once the JVS cable arrives.

Awsome stuff ..
I remeber playing a 4p monkey games from namco …

You gotta frow balls at each others monkey … was cool
And keeping track of each others monkey was key to winning ,,, like looking at a whole big screen is a dynamic in its self. Great multi player fun . Fire pro wrestling on dramcast is cool too

So I couldn’t get 4-Up working properly as the link kit just mirrors the controls over both cabs. However after discussing it with Invizm, we came up with a way to make it work. You need two JVS Expanders. Only one of them needs a DE-10 and the other connects to the first via USB. As long as they are both on the same firmware, everything will work as it should. The cabs are now both VS cabs as well as 4-Up. This is controlled by whatever Start button you press after credit input. You can sit anywhere you please for VS, which is an unexpected bonus. The only issue is that some games cannot be played without messing about as they require four coin mechs. Free Play does help a little, but not for everything.

Fortunately I had bought a second JVS Expander in his moving sale as an impulse buy because it was cheap and I was able to get it all up and running following a bit of tinkering.

Now I just need to get my new PCB boards back from the cutter and then rejig the cable system so that it is nice and neat to house a main PCB on top and a JVS Expander underneath.

I thought I was finished before, but it seems not!

Crime Fighters 2 has no free play setting, so 4-Up doesn’t work unless you change the order of the controls to start with player 3 and 4 and then swap them back to 1 and 2. I could just install two more coin mechs I suppose, but it’s easier to just not play Crime Fighters 2.
