So this arrived yesterday, it was working before being disassembled some time ago by its previous owner, had to be bolted back together for transport, but I then had to again take it apart as it would not fit through my door.

Everything should be there to get it going again, also included was a spare set of PCBs (faulty I think) and all the manuals and flyer.

Side art and black vinyl has been removed aside one piece, so ideally just needs redoing and putting back on.

I was hoping to just plug it all in and back together to see if its still works, but to my horror their is some rank white mould inside, so would rather get that all cleaned before I embark on to the fixing it up, any idea what is the best way to get rid of that stuff (see pics) and stop it returning.

Dry the cab out.
Move it to a well ventelated place (the mould is nasty stuff)
Hoover it out.
Wipe off the rest with a cloth using a weakish bleach solution (best wear gloves).

Job done.

Saw this one the back of Martin's van when he dropped off a cab the other week, if there's drool marks, sorry that was me.

Does anyone else see the funny side of white powder inside NARC?

Suggests its been sitting in a damp place for a long time, or outside. Ive had a couple like this, buy some anti mould spray, you can even get that at a pound shop, give it a good clean and reassess, if the smell is still there you can sand and clearcoat, but tbh it should come off pretty easily.

Thanks to Strykr for coming over today, we pulled this one out again, a friend came over and helped me put it together in July, but it was just totally dead. Strykr had a fiddle and one of the wires connecting the on off button was not properly on, so cab fired into life with a large electrical speaker sound, that didn't half make us jump. All PCB LEDs come on, and screen fired up, but it was just a purple/red flashing and nothing else. Not entirely sure what it could be, we suspect it might be the PCB.

Yeah that was loud lol!

Traced the 5v and got that nice across all the pcbs, but didnt have a schem to look at other voltages.

There are about 5 pcbs in there which seems a tad overkill for narc if im honest, makes the atari sys2 boardset size look sensible

.

Will have a look for the schems and come over again Ben, the boards al looked very clean, not an indication of a worker of course, but more promising!
