Hello!
My wonderful Sega Rambo has had the following problem for months:
Background:
- Cabinet is original, except the tv - there is a Samsung tv inside
- Game worked fine (only gun-recoil for player 1 was deactivated - for some reason the game sometimes crashed when the recoil was activated)
- Original IDE HDD, original keychip, original CF card
- For some reason, the previous owner had routed the audio directly from the sound card to the tv via a mini-jack audio cable. So the sound was playing through the TV.
The multiboot menu worked, but:
- many games did not run
- Rambo from Multiboot did boot BUT when game starts:
- loading screen → SEGA logo → CRIWARE logo
- crash exactly when the intro video should start
- return to multiboot menu
Now the SAME ISSUE occurs on my ORIGINAL hardware!!!!!
Current problem with original hardware (look at the video sec 10)
- Rambo loads
- SEGA logo → CRIWARE logo
- crash at intro video (Credit overlay flashes briefly & grey screen with the X)
- right after that Error message: "Error 10 – Unexpected Game Program Failure"
I've bought an identical hard drive to the original. When I'm installing the game from the original DVD. The "Load Release" process completes to 100%. Then, for a millisecond, the message "Check Game Spec" appears on screen, followed immediately by "Error 18 IO Device Not Found".
Question:
I guess the multiboot attempt messed up my Rambo. I'm really at a loss right now. Do you have any idea what might have happened? I would be very grateful for your help.
Regards,
Rocky 🥊
