Building up my MVS collection (when I can afford them) and love to know those games you keep coming back to that are well worth purchasing regardless of cost / rarety? Maybe top three regardless of genre. Really enjoying the forum, I've only got an MVS arcade at present and very jealous of some of the beautiful arcade machines and rooms on here. Cheers

I have lots of favourites, if I want to chase a high score, I love playing Blazing Star and 8Man. If I want some 1 on 1 beat em up action, I would either choose, Fatal Fury, Real Bout Fatal Fury or The King Of The Fighters 96! Cyber Lip is a great run and gun and if I'm having a beer, I might put on League Bowling.

Good shout on turf masters. More fun than a golf game has any right to be.

To say its one of the cheapest puzzle bobble deserves a place in any collection. Shock troopers is great too and the differing paths offer replayability.

MVS is a great system to collect. There are too many great games to single out just three, so here's the first that spring to mind:

Shock Troopers
Top down run and gun with a surprising amount of depth and replayability thanks to multiple paths, characters and play styles. Probably my favourite Commando clone, ever.

Blazing Star
Horizontal shmup with great visuals. Easy to pick up, but has a lot of different scoring mechanics that add replay value.

Waku Waku 7
Despite the Neo Geo being home to some of the best fighters of all time, it's this one I keep coming back to. It's just such fun to play, looks and sounds brilliant and is unlike anything else on the system.

Great choices

My go to games are

Metal Slug X
Street Hoop
King of Fighters 94

I never get tired of these.

So many games to enjoy and not all of them are expensive

I don’t think I could name just 3, but currently occupying my 6 slot are:

Metal Slug 2
Windjammers
Last Blade 2
Magical Drop 3 (my number 1 MVS game)
Shock Troopers
Thrash Rally

Twinkle Star Sprites is another great game, alas, now way out of my price range.phillv852019-12-09 22:12:26

Thanks for the replies so far...interesting some of the more low cost / easy to find games are getting plenty of mentions, I've got shock troopers and love it...its graphic style and animations, like metal slugs, etc are just so damn good
