I have, on multiple motherboard revisions and so did mame guru, no issues.

I've just had a look through a box of ROMS, I remember Mike gave me some ROMs that are stored in a small wooden case, but I'm stumped where they are.

Not sure if all of these are compatible, but 2 look to be suitable for Naomi.

I actually met up with Andy last week, I bought a couple of bits from him and played on his Multi driver. Man, you wanna see what Andy has up his sleeve! I hope it sees the light of day soon.

Blue sticker one is Multi-region for ST-V, weird to see it on a m27c160, but it would work if you have the 2 pins hanging over the edge, normally I use prog roms from VS2 Step2, but I think m27c800 are probably more expensive than a 160.

epr-20886 is IC2 from Daytona 2 PE

epr-17740 is original ST-V Japanese BIOS

epr-22849 is Japanese F355 bios

Are you getting mixed up with the Non San Ace Fan boards that are same size as those, the later ones are much smaller without the connectors for Naomi Multi systems

Yep, the SanAce and the later one with low profile Chinese fans work fine with HOTD2.

It's the CRX type the one used on MushiKings/Maniac Panic Ghosts - it's a smaller foot print, and will 100% not work with the original HOTD2 bios/rom board - it's proven by me, and Ken at www.irepairsega.com.

Anyone who doesn't believe me, that is fine, some people don't believe god, that is also fine.

The FW on the NetDimm in my old IDv2 cab was pretty old and didn't run CF, so hopefully the disc/pic and ROM's are all you need.

I'll see if I have any luck burning the ROM's on my day off later in the week. I bought the burner ages ago and I've not even burned anything on it yet! I built an XP PC with serial ports specifically to use with the Dataman burner, and also to dump some mini DV cassettes via Firewire which worked a treat.
Thanks mate, don't spend too much time on it on one of your precious days off.. but hey it'll be good to finally put the burner to good use! Haha love that, I'm always buying stuff I think I may need sometime in the future.. it remains in a box for years but when you finally get the need for it it's a great feeling! :)

I recently had one half of my D2 go down, turned out to be the CPU board which was a first for me.. usually video board or ROM board. Anyway I raided one of my Model 3 spares boxes and out came an untested CPU board I'd been hoarding from one our raids back in the day. Worked perfectly and probably cost about a quid being part of one of the huge job lots we had! ;)

Intrigued by what Andy might have up his sleeve, I was inspired by his work nearly 20 years ago.. is it gonna happen all over again??!

They all looked the same size with my tired eyes last night, but when I looked again this afternoon, 2 of them had magically changed size!

Thanks as always mate.

I fancy having a tinker burning some ROMS and this gives me an excuse and some motivation to give it a go!

I had a really bad phase with Model 3 Step 2 boards, it ended up being the Blast City power supply that was frying my Video Boards, expensive lesson learned there! PSU's may be good enough for PCB's, but Model 3 is a different kettle of fish. But ever since I made my own Lindbergh PSU loom for the Blast City I've had no issues whatsoever. Lindy PSU's are getting on a bit now though, so I'll be looking to recap them sooner rather than later.

Should have put in an offer in for the lot of those Model 3 boards like Alpha suggested, you live and learn eh. We all still did pretty well, Andy was nice enough to sell me Dirt Devils so I need to try and build a stack for that. I've got quite a few faulty boards hoping one day that I'll be brave and knowledgeable enough to try and repair them, that day hasn't arrived yet. lol

As for Andy's pet project, I think I should start pestering him to release it!

Thanks man, I did consider getting a ROM burner during my long hunt for an ECA board - thought about converting one of my many VS2 '99 boards but ended up finding an original in the end (another thanks to Andy!).

I think the best BIOS for Naomi2 netbooting is EPR-23605C - do you have access to the file?

Out of interest, what voltages do you have your +5v and +3.3v lines set to on your Model 3 stacks? After I lost the CPU board on one of the D2 cabs I checked the +3.3v and it was around 3.4v at the loom from the PSU which in the end I thought was about right. Also checked for spikes but it remained constant even at startup. +5 was at 5.1v.

I counted recently and I have seven step 2 video boards with varying faults :censored::LOL:

Overlooked replying to your reply!

I've downloaded the file from Internet Archive and will aim to try and burn a couple of Bios chips this week mate.
Not sure of the exact voltages offhand, the cab is surrounded by tat at the moment so can't check. Once I've moved the tat I'll check them.

Cheers.

Burned 2 M27C100 eproms with EPR-23605C. They seem to verify and compare ok but I can't test to be 100% sure.

Please can you remind me of your addy Gary? I'll post off everything off when I pass a post office.

Cheers.
