The import cost thing was bad

If you paid a deposit and buying from EU for a pre-order and then they move out of the EU without informing existing pre-order customers, meaning EU/UK buyers incur ridiculous import duties and courier "handling fees" that would not have been originally due is a pi$$ take.

I generally avoid buying from abroad now due to these addition import costs. If you factor these costs in and it's still cheap, then go for it or just wait for a UK reseller/supplier.

I did that with the Retro Fighters Brawler64 pad for N64. Originally you could only buy direct from US but it would have cost $60 shipped before import taxes. Would have cost about £68 for 1 pad. No thanks.

Gave it a bit of time and they became available on gamesconnection.co.uk for £29.99 free delivery (brand new, official UK stockists). Happy days

bit late on this one but....
If the OPs post on publicshaming intention was to simply do a 360 and re-order the alternative Neo-SD cart why didn't he ask the seller to switch the order, rather than asking for his cash back??
A simple 'confession' that you had ordered the wrong item for your system would possibly have solicited a sympathetic ear, rather than giving the impression of 'Buyers Remorse'.

I was OP for this thread, but the post you refer to is not mine or my site, just to confirm.

I read through that site and some other examples and remember there was a reason around it though.

The guys do seem to have a bad record, spoken to multiple people that like the products but say the company is just awful to deal with. I know there is a mob mentality online, but I sympathise with the complaints I've read about.

As it is, I pre-ordered and my order still has not arrived two weeks after others got theirs. That's pretty poor. And that's not a shipping delay - it's not arrived because they have not even been able to send it yet. I pre-ordered as soon as the stream went live before it was even announced that you could pre-order, so not sure how I've ended up bottom of the queue. It is pretty frustrating to be honest and this is on top of other tech issues they've had, I didn't even get an order confirmation back then and nobody on their side could manage a reply on twitter. These things stack and because their communication is crap it sours the experience even more. I'm tempted to call the bank and file a chargeback at this point, I'll give it a few more days but I'm not waiting three weeks for it not to ship.

I've had people on here ask to buy my item when it arrives because they absolutely do not want to order through the manufacturer. There's a pattern there, we're not just talking about one person.
