hey if possible do u have any pics or information regarding the thumbstick mechanism itself (i have an original vectrex controller here but the pots for the thumbstick are badly worn out and one of the centering 'springs' has snapped.. just wondering if you perhaps found a suitable replacement out in the wild somewhere?)

Joe - you can replace the springs with springs from a 2600 cart. I'm sure someone will chime in with the pot values too, so you can replace those.

Joe - you can replace the springs with springs from a 2600 cart. I'm sure someone will chime in with the pot values too, so you can replace those.

hey thanks i didnt know that and that's good to know

i didnt realise you could put the springs in other pots, i thought the pots in a vectrex controller were a special design in order to be able to accommodate the springs

first though the vectrex i got has a strange fault going on, i will post in the tech subforum and see if anyone has any ideas

I can wait, it's going nowhere! Just bought a big brother vector cab for my little Vectrex so plenty to keep me busy.
