Hi,

Just got bitten by the bug and started off my arcade collecting career. If I know myself, it'll only get worse. :)

Currently have an Arkanoid board in an Electrocoin Centi, some assorted boards are arriving in the mail soon.

My want list is much longer than my bank balance can handle, but hopefully patience and time will do the trick.

Wish I'd have had the space for this hobby 10-15 years ago. Seems like the prices are high these days. :)

You'll find your wanted list also increases as your bank balance decreases, its all relative. Watch out it'll get worse

Cheers guys!

Haha yeah, I've been down that road with Commodores and Saabs, but I decided to ramp those two hobbies down a lot and do this thing for a while.

Thankfully there's the storage space issue and the bank balance issue to keep these things at bay. :)

Welcome to UKvAC Jope.

See you have Marble Madness as your Avatar. Is this a game you're after?

If so it will be an expensive one as it's an Atari system 1 game and needs a medium res monitor. I was playing mine last night for the first time in months.

You should find plenty of other JAMMA games around though. You can still buy some really good ones for sensible money.

EDIT: Just noticed your wants list, so I guess you already knew about MM being System1.

Thanks! :)

Yes, I know a bit about MM.. The first time I tried to get one on my hands was 2006, but back then I didn't really have the money or space for it, so it was only a half hearted attempt.

If I had known how unique that chance was, I would probably have paid the asking price for it. At the moment I'm thinking I might build a System 1 replica cabinet myself in the future. We'll see.

Is it really medium res? I was under the impression that it was a regular TV frequency screen. The last time I was in the same room with a marble madness (a few months ago) it blew its monitor and the guy who owned it just replaced it with a similar sized one out of a generic Jamma cab he had.

Perhaps you're mistaking it with a system 2 which is indeed med res.

Edit: oh yeah and MM is basically my holy grail. It's the first game I ever remember playing on an Amiga and then later I was mesmerised by it when I finally encountered one in the arcade. :)

Yeah sorry dude, I was getting mixed up there. You are correct that System 1 is Standard res.

Thanks, noticed it on ebay the other day by chance.

Part of me wants to start collecting pieces, but the sensible part of me tells me to try and find the cabinet first, then see what parts I really need. :)
