Looks good. Love the flexibility. This is what the Wii-U should have been (although that'd hurt the 3DS sales).
Not sure why they're releasing a couple of months after Christmas etc; they're not selling any Wii-Us or 3DS this December then. Still aiming at party / group gaming although Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks great.

Thumbs up from me... but then I'm not a modern console gamer.Nes4life2016-10-20 17:13:57

We need to know what the battery life is - that will make or break it imo...I would also hope that the dock outputs at 1020p...

How many times can those controllers 'click' into place before they stop working?

Nice looking thing though and I like the idea of multiplayer in the video.

I won't be getting one. Too new for me.

In my experience with every nintendo system, they are built to last. Although i didn't buy the wii u, my friend did and i did think it was a bit cheap and breakable, but for instance the n64, built like a tank, you could throw that thing out a third floor window and it would still play. So heres hoping its back to the solid design. I'm getting one regardless

Looks very cool, I'll be getting one at some point.
Just need the games, I missed out on Wii and Wii U so would be happy if they port those games over.

No chance lol. I value my N64 far too much, worth a bomb these days, not that I would ever sell mine anyway.

Honestly looks like another pile'o sh*te gimmick to me. I bought a WiiU (thankfully second hand on here) so won't be fooled again.

I would bet the full HD TV out will be an issue for people on a low powered portable device, given Ninty tend to lag behind the competiton on their visual fidelity. Also echo what others have said about battery life. Interesting take on the flexibility, but if people have already got one phone/tablet in their pocket, are they really going to go for another?

Did you really dislike the Wii U a lot?

I think the Wii U was a bit gimmicky, but the Switch has a bit more meat and potatoes to it imo.
The handheld aspect has a really nice sized screen and being able to play the same game on the move and at home really appeals to me.

I bought an NES Mini while they were still available, much more my cup of tea. Like anything "retro" that Nintendo release, it's sold out everywhere on pre-order

I can probably count the number of times I've used it on one hand. The Mrs uses it occasionally. Complete and utter waste of money, so like I say. Won't be fooled again. WiiU and Nintendo are just not the real deal when it comes to consoles, still banging the party game drum and flogging to death character from the 80's and 90's.

On that note, it's a bit like Namco with their Pacman franchise. As much as I love the arcade PCBs, there's no need to tweak slightly and push out for every device in existence

I think it looks cool. I've been holding off buying a console awaiting this. Not sure I'll be queuing up at midnight to. It it but I'll certainly be having one at some point next year.
