See, as a left hander, arcade controls have always been left handed in the standard layout, complex work done on your primary hand, button bashing to the dumb one!

This for me also applies to cutlery layouts, dumb hand cutting, control hand making sure the fork gets in your mouth !
yup, as a fellow left hander, everything is just peachy

that is a fair shout, so chinese whispers
I think so. Everyone loves a conspiracy theory.

Also LBJ was talking about Arcade ops doing it. But it's not exactly easy to swap the sides of stick and buttons on a CP without making a mess, and it's not like they ever deviously removed the buttons from one side of the centre joystick cabs.

The industry just kind of naturally moved to building cabs with left-sided joysticks when it made sense for the games.

And it doesn't matter that much. My left-handed mate is better with Zangief than any righty I know.

This for me also applies to cutlery layouts, dumb hand cutting, control hand making sure the fork gets in your mouth !
As a right hander I hold the fork with my right hand, to the fury of polite civilisation.

Fellow south paw
In Spain the facist regime tied your left arm to your back until you learned to use your right.

It was forbidden.IMG_5538.png
Sorted 😁
It’s strange being left handed
Playing street fighter.
I’m convinced we have the advantage.

It would be cool to run an experiment comparing how lefties and righties perform in Street Fighter on classic cabinets. You could track combo execution speed, input accuracy, and reaction times to see if the non-standard joystick placement actually gives anyone an edge. It’d definitely help settle the debate on whether modern arcade tournaments should start offering southpaw controller setups. Also, if you are looking for newer and more active games, I recommend checking out this one https://crownplay-italy.com/ It is a reliable website with great offers and simple controls.

I'd say that up/down is that as you stand facing left or right of CP because the the buttons on the right, so Right on all players is towards the buttons, but a few have owned these Simpsons so can someone confirm it? i'd never really thought about it before when looking at the cab but that makes it even worse and its an awful looking cab as it is
I always found it pretty awful being one of the outer two players on Simpsons and Turtles
Suppose it did make for a smaller machine than the deluxe sit-down version with a big plastic TV :D.
