[ukvac] off topic - any ITALIAN SPEAKERS out there ???

Hi All

We have an urgent requirment at work this week, as we need a native italian
speaker to be able to come into our office in Banbury/Oxon, and help with
some game text which needs to be translated into Italian ASAP. Most has
allready been done, but it turns out its not exactly correct due to lack of
ability in the person claiming to be italian who did it first time around.

They will be paid a healthy day rate, and be put up in a hotel if need be.
At least one day, possibly two, is needed.

Anyone who can realistically help please get in touch offlist asap.

cheers

There were 50 or so cheats for the amiga one, but cant remember all of the
c64 ones, although I do have the code on this pc somewhere. But its late :(

All you needed to do was press T for trousers and the bloke would drop his
trunks with a surprised expression !

SF went off and joined the army cos his govt made him do so, and last saw
him in 1990, Jeffs still around writing games, and keeping Lamas. He last
showed up at a Retrokade do back in march and promptly showed everyone how
to play tempest, even beat Ian Boffin I think :) (whos initials remain all
over most of my machines ...) Last year there was a bit of a retro gamers
spontaneous meeting here at the office, with Jeff, Myself and the elusive
Paul Woakes all sat on the sofa - got an amazing pic of that somewhere. Good
days yakking was had by all, like who ripped us off, who didnt get paid, who
sold the most units, whos had the most court cases, blah blah :)

Some great nostalgic info there ! Can you put some of this up on
your company (or indeed personal) website ?
There's a lot of us interested in the old 8 bit days, but I have a
feeling that some of the UKvacers are telling me to get back on
topic (the Outrun sit down cab dangling above my head gives it
away) .
Nice to see Jeff doing what he loves again, hope Stavros comes back
to the fray. Was a bit gutted when he went off to the Finnish army
as I enjoyed his stuff also.
Got to go as I've not slept since Friday and have work in 7 hours.
You still got the/another Ferrari btw or have you traded it in for
the cabinet above my head ? :p

Ian actually won the Tempest competition. It was Star Wars that Yak
owned. :)

Pics from Retrokade are here (with a video clip of Jeff playing
Stargate, Star Wars and Tempest):

And here are the competition results:

We want to set up a ukvac'ers vs. Llamasofties high-score competition at
Rav's place at some point. :)

hah !

yes, my girlfriend ran a jumper manufacturing company which would copy your
favourite old knarled up jumper and remake it. And we did a couple with IK+
all over it for competition prizes in ACE and The One magazines.

hahah

ace, and the one...

which one was it that i mistakenly bought (around 1991) when it said the
disk on the front cover was Atari ST, Amiga and PC compatible, when it would
not read in my 286.. only for the magazine to live for 2 or 3? issues then
fold...

the one?

I think it was Ace magazine that lasted a few issues, I remember buying
one issue with a audio cassette on it which had a bloke giving reviews
and competitions, I think they called it "Radio Ace" It had reviews of
time scanner and grand monster slam, loads of sampled sounds and special
effects on it too, I might even have that tape lying around somewhere!

ACE lasted the shortest, but not sure how many issues.

As far as I can remember the ST disk format was readable by PC's as half
density disks or something. Cant actually remember it working too well
though . .
