[ukvac] OT: Are you a Lotus Domino & Notes user or developer?

Hi All,

We have a custom Lotus Domino & Notes 4.6 system here at work that is
fed data from some of our accounting databases and replicates it at
several of our clients offices in the Middle East.

It's old and clunky and we're going to upgrade it.

I need to know if the current version (6.5.3) allows you to develop a
web interface for custom databases, in addition to providing email
and calendar features via the web (which we don't need).

I've been on IBMs web site that makes it look like you can, but
doesn't give me a warm enough feeling, and having spoken to IBM sales
support, I'm none the wiser.

If you are a user or developer and have any thoughts, please let me
know!

Thanks,
D-Type

You can develop web front ends for Notes DB's.

This is actually possible in 4.6x as far as I can remember.
Pretty sure I was doing this in '97.

Previous company I worked at we did just that!

I forwarded this email to the Lotus guy there and when I hear back from
here I will let you know.
