[ukvac] OT: eBay Etiquette - feedback

Clocks!

relative eBay novis requires guidance please....

is it traditional for the SELLER of an item to leave feedback first?

the way i understand it....
when the BUYER has paid for the item, they have therefore completed their part of the transaction, so the SELLER should leave feedback based on the BUYERS actions.

when the BUYER receives the items, and has ensured the items is as described, the BUYER then leaves feedback, as they have then completed their part of the transaction.

i have a seller who for some reason doesn't want to leave me feedback, after i paid within 20 minutes of the deal being closed.

deal concluded 12th Oct,
advised that item was being 'standard parcel forced' on 16th (fair enough)
package arrives with me on 25th, was only really posted on the 21st.

i was going to type something like...

POSITIVE: intermitant communication, mislead on shipping date, otherwise well packaged, as described and working fine.

(may well be over 80 characters!)

when is it appropriate to use a neural feedback?
i would hate to make an arse of myself, or perhaps i already have? :(
i don't know what to do, as i myself am a model citizen and always pay instantly:),
i just want to be fair.

TIA,

GaRy:) the arse?

As a seller, I always leave feedback once payment has been made - for one
thing, it helps me keep track of who still owes:) - but as you say, once
payment has been made, the buyer has completed the transaction.

Some sellers won't though - guess they're scared of getting a neg after
leaving a positive...

My personal opinion would be that your suggested feedback is fine, and that
what has happened is not worth a neutral - after all, the item arrived and
was OK.

If you check the sellers feedback profile, you can see the feedback he has
left for others - he may always leave feedback after the buyer, or may
simply not bother at all - draw your own conclusions - and good luck:)

Either way, I'd leave your feedback, as it helps others judge whether they
want to by from the same person - shipping time may be a major priority to
some!

As a seller I leave feedback after the buyer has received the goods, is
satisfied with them, and leaves me positive feedback first. In my mind the
transaction isn't concluded until the buyer has received the goods and is
happy with the purchase. Especially as far as arcade games are concerned, a
lot can happen after they are put into the post; they may never arrive,
might get damaged, non-worker, etc. etc.
