[ukvac] OT: glass petition.
This is important, could well affect many of the list and friends/families.
PLEASE PLEASE take a look and sign this petition to get clubs and
pubs to stop using glass, due to the number of thugs and drunken
twats who get into glass/bottle fights and seriously hurt innocent
people every year.

Please also forward this to anyone else you think might sign, this
is an important "foward me" email for a change.

The problem does not lie in the glass but in the drink, drinker and what
the law does about this. As some of you know I come from Holland, what
most of you might not know is that my dad used to operate a several
restaurants and bars so I grew up in that environment. We have much
longer opening hours, ONLY serve glass and incidents like these are very
rare.

What it boils down to is the mentality of the UK youth now, you cant
have a good time unless you get bladdered then have a fight. Its a
whole culture thing. which sucks. No matter what opening times, or
rules, or punishment you dish out, it wont make any difference.
last one out turn the light off.

Oh don't blame the youth andy... It's not their fault their parents
didnt beat them each night with a slipper and they didnt get caned at
school... actually I suspect a lot of them DID get caned at school
just not by the teachers :D

Yup, the whole drink=fight mentality sucks.

However, IMHO, life isn't perfect and however noble you choose to be, you ain't
gonna change that overnight.

You could also argue that Live8 will not get rid of poverty in Africa, and that
young girlies will not get pregnant if they don't sleep around.

The reality is that people are going to fight, and plastic beer containers will
reduce injuries.

Maybe police should be given the power to mandate that dangerous pubs use plastics.

You have the choice of two different government
approved drugs though ).. One opens your mind and
relieves you of agression. Where as the other makes
you into bumbling agressive idiot..
