Would you consider releasing the music data to non-original cabinet owners? I have the 3DS version and would love to get the music on my wannabe OutRun...fully understand if not of course.

Unfortunately not. Not because I have anything against such projects, but I want to be careful not to be seen to be competing with 'OutRun on modern hardware' - as there are still new commercial offerings currently available, like the Switch and 3DS versions. Hence, I'm not just offering the ROMs as a direct download.

In other news, I spoke to Mark @ Retroclinic today. Whilst he isn't offering an EPROM programming service, he can upgrade PCBs to the Enhanced romset as part of a PCB service. There's an automatic charity donation as part of his service charge.

Fantastic work, really excited to give it a go. Looking forward to the cheats and traffic options as well to help the kids enjoy playing it.

That's fair enough, and understandable. Many thanks for your reply.

Big thanks to Ace for burning the ROMs for me and of course to dj_yt for the amazing work. I've got to fix the monitor in mine first but when I do get to fitting the erpoms are they all on the top board of the two board stack or am I going to have to split it to fit some?

All on the top board. The Enhanced Edition manual has full installation instructions.

Just to say I got this installed on one of my boardsets today, absolutely loving it. The new music is great and the youngest is loving the cheat options.

Amazing Work Chris.

Thanks for the work you put into OutRun once again and

to keep all of us still loving this Great Old Title.

Nice to see the layout and scenery changes added from the early release.

I like the fact that you left the bug in the track time allowance for Cloudy Mountain,

to keep from a scoring disparity between versions.

Do you think that original error is what caused the fastest route being R/L/R/R, rather

than all right turns?

Released v2.0.2

This release fixes a minor bug with the Motor Test on Moving Cabinets only.

The motor test, in service mode, would only work if DIP 4 (extra music) was not set.

This is a bug in the original codebase, rather than something specific to Enhanced Edition - setting DIP 4 always causes the motor test to be skipped.

However, because DIP 4 was previously unused it would have largely gone unnoticed, whereas on Enhanced Edition it can be used to enable the larger music ROM.

A workaround for the older version (v2.0.1) is to ensure DIP 4 is not set before running the motor test in service mode. This DIP can also be toggled in software. Even for Moving Cab owners, there is no major need to upgrade as a result, and this can be considered a minor fix.

Could you explain more about this bug? What is different about Cloudy Mountain?
