Get the pedal off first.

Soak with WD and try belting in an oversize allen key first.
If no luck you could try screw extractors second. If still no joy drill out the head.
Remove the remainder of the old bolt and run a tap to clean the threads if need be.

With the pedal off sounds like you need it rewelded, pretty sure it's just mild steel so that woudn't be a tough one!

Repaint, reassemble! Sounds easy doesn't it!

good comments thanks guys

I am in the zone now, when I just want to get stuff done and want it finished

but some bits will have to wait

will do more cosmetics today anyway and get some pictures up asap

still have not worked out what that massive hole is in the front panel but I think I will just put the blanking metal cover back for the time being

You can read about my endless battle with my pedal on the restoration thread I posted on J+

Spent days on it as they hadnt mounted the captive nuts correctly in my cab, and had screwed directly into the wood!!

again sorry for the lack of photos, the steering wheel has a massive gouge at the top

... i might be able to get one from Bensograd, but if I can't, could I try filling this with p38 then sanding then paint black then lacquer?

I know it won't be perfect as original but the rest of the wheel is ok

this cab will never be perfect, the bezel looks better than before but the holes are pretty obvious, only way round it is to take to car body guy maybe but I have to draw the line on this project
