I see the CoreGrafx version is now available after the delay, but reading a few reviews, I think I'll pass. Bad build quality, apparently. Costs £100, too. Has anyone got their hands on one?

I got the PC engine mini, build quality is spot on. Cannot see the Core being any different only its Grey and comes with a controller with Autofire.

Emulation could be a tiny bit better for some sounds but otherwise you would not notice and these can be hacked to add whatever games you want on them.

Yeah, it'd be a bit strange if the CoreGrafx one is worse build quality than the Japanese one. A few reviewers mention it on Amazon, though.

Don't have much interest in any of these mini consoles released so far but the opinion I get on you-tube is that the coregrafx is the one to go for.
It's actually a mini, unlike the US 'mini' that is still twice the size, it has the auto-fire joypad/s, unlike the JP mini + all the extra hidden stuff.

Heh, it's down to under £80 already on Amazon. They'll be giving them away by the end of the week.
