Got offered a brand new OLED switch at a decent price. I generally have enough consoles already be nice to grab this just for some of the exclusives. I cant see the point of playing lego games or COD when I have an Xbox already. I had a quick ebay search today and games seem horrific prices for a 6 year old console. Maybe I am just spoiled but for my Xbox you often find after a while they drop down to a tenner, or you get heavy discounts in the online sales.

Is this a general Switch thing that prices are kept high, or do they have sales etc, the secondhand market seems overly dear !! Maybe will just wait for Switch 2 !! Just wondered if I am missing a trick or something. Even my retro consoles unboxed games are not that dear. Also there seems to be a lot of unboxed switch games (still at high prices). Are unboxed games likely to be fakes or people dont seem to keep the boxes ???

I guess the fact they are cartridges means it’s more expensive to manufacture games than for disc based systems. That said Ninty don’t tend to discount for digital downloads so who knows?

On the plus side, if the second hand market is good, you can sell for roughly the same price you buy for.

There's regular sales for download games. There's one on now, but the Nintendo big hitter games (Mario, Zelda etc.) don't usually get much discount. Downloads for these are usually more expensive than the cart versions as I believe Nintendo has some kind of deal with retailers not to undercut cart prices.

Try these websites for games;

EBay and Amazon

Just bought an OLED myself and bought loads of physical games from all over the place.

As big10p said, loads of downloadable games go on sale for under £5 (Not Nintendo 1st party games), so may go mainly digital as most are so cheap compared to the physical copies.

Some highlights (I've yet to use my OLED/download any games yet but will have some time soon to enjoy)

Wow that is really really helpful all, and some nice examples there, also clear advise on main titles.

Trouble is you are now convincing me to buy one, its is a new one and very reasonable..... I am sure I have used that AKA base.com before ....

Ended up being too tempting. Looking forward to giving it a go. OLED screen is supposed to look amazing. I bought it mainly for handheld mode, although docking for use on large screen is a bonus.

Also, if you get Nintendo Online membership, you can play a load of NES, SNES, GB, GB Advance, N64 and Mega Drive games for free. You need online expansion pack for some of those, though.

Yeah, I've bought second-hand games off ebay before, then sold them on later for the same price. Watch FB Marketplace though, as it's swarming with scammers.

i think you can generally spot scammers a mile off, people who have more than 30 things for sale at stupid low prices, people who wont do things via paypal, post only...those sorts of things

saying that, anyone interested in LA Noire at all, bought it for one of my lads one christmas and he didnt play a single minute of it, say £11 posted?
