Hi All,
A couple of years ago, someone (not me) spun my Hyundai 4x4 in the snow and steam-rollered a post at the side of the road, smashing the underneath engine cover in the process. It's a big plastic plate-thing that is supposed to stop the engine getting whacked when you're off road.
Anyway, I need a new one.
Once upon a time, I would whizz down to the local scrapyard, hacksaw the side off the old car with necessary spare part, in the rain and mud, and use a hammer and mole-grips to extract said item, which would cost me max. a fiver and it'd get fitted that afternoon.
Things seem to have changed in the past 20 years, I can't remember the last time I saw a scrapyard, and especially not where I live in a tiny village near Zürich.
This might sound like a stupid question, but how do I get myself a replacement part, without resorting to going into a dealer and assuming the position? (I've never ever bought anything major or had anything serviced by a dealer, it's not in my blood.) I'm assuming it'll be from the UK as I speak the language, and I assume they'll send the part.
Any thoughts?
