Can anyone lend some advice on the power mod for the PSC?
I've tried lots combinations different autobleem installations on 5 different USB sticks (all FAT32 and named SONY) none of which seemed to work so I decided to do the power mod. The tiny tiny resistors are so hard for me to see and solder with my massive soldering tip, I thought I had bridged the resistors correctly but still couldn't get this to work. I then tried a blob of solder which clearly covered/joined all four contacts on the resistors. In this state it took a bit longer to power up and then gave an error about controller in port 1 not being recognised. I should probably mention that I've only attempted the mod on the (RH) player 2 side.
I decided it might be easier on my eyes if I just removed the resistors entirely and cleaned it up with a scratch pen. I'm sure I read somewhere it was okay to remove the resistors.
I'm now at the stage of the below picture as you can see the right hand side of the resistors were joined (2) and 3 is ground. do I simply need to join points 1,2 and 3? When I joined all for contacts previously I had the above problem but I suppose this could have been down to a cold joint not correctly bridging all of the connections.
Is this simply a case of you have to do both ports in order for it to work or am I missing something else fundamental?
Thanks
Steve
