Question - AI & Mame Fault Symptoms On PCBs

I have no idea if it's possible but the thought just popped in my head

Could you use AI and Mame to show Arcade PCB fault conditions caused by each or multiple IC failures and match it too your board issue showing most likely IC causing it saving hours of head scratching

I know you could have connection issues and trace faults also but just a thought

Since mame is converting the code of the original game to run on modern hardware I doubt it since it's not emulating the hardware.
Maybe an FGPA with the ability to deactivate certain LS chips in it's core might work though.
