Raiden Pcb Repair

Purchased a non working original raiden pcb(us set2) from a member on ukvac,he said that the fault is that its not booting.
Here it is out of the box,the pcb looked in nice condition apart from being heavely dusty. ok time to power on.................................................................... Well thats definetley not booting,no sound,no graphics.Decided to give the top pcb a good clean and removed all the socketed eproms,the bottom pcb was ok and hardly dusty.
Dumped all the eproms and did a romident,eprom 1(cpu) failed and also eprom 7(audio).
Programmed these eproms and put them into there located sockets.
Now lets power on 🤞................................................................................................................... Its alive,raiden lives to fly again😛
Played this for an hour and worked great,awesome shooter which has superb graphics and sound as well as excellent gameplay.

Nice repair , You gotta love the easy ones !! If only all were like this !

I have not repaired one for ages , Seem to have lost my ' Mojo ' as had a bad patch where i could not seem to get any working. Need inspiration !

Yea,I got lucky with this one,i was dreading the thought of a custom failing.

Did you reprogram the same chip’s you pulled ?

I have a raiden same white screen ..
Makes me optimistically think mine might fly again too …

Just got a new fpga chip but it was not the issue

All the eproms on the top pcb are OTP type I.e one time programmable,I used 27c512-12 eproms(uv erasable) as replacement.

I will try your method of rom ident ..
