Quick write up on this one...
I picked this up from PhilMurr who recently grabbed a bunch of cabs from an old skoool vaccer.
Turned out the cab only had a minor PCB fault.
Well it didn't when I turned it on, had a nice 5VDC on the gameboard for 30 seconds or so then smoke and a glowing diode forced me to power the pcb off.
After a quick look at the schematics I confirmed the diode type and replaced the faulty one along with its brother next door, powered up the game again and had no 5volts on the IC's, traced it back and found nothing coming out of the LM309 regulator.
Replaced the regulator tonight and luckily for me the game plays. The paddle pots either need cleaning or replacing but other than that it seems to work fine in one and two player modes.
