LOOK.... Theres a simple hard-and-fast rule here:
If its dedicated and it has sideart a UKVACer should consider it
worth saving/restoring.
Its true, taking a cab and restoring the whole way is hard and slow -
but its a HOBBY guys - thats what its all about!! I did a gut-upwards
restoration on my Defender.. two wood-only Robotrons gut-upwards
thats till need nice control panels - for fuckssakes - thats why i've
spent weeks vectoring the CPO artwork and months trying to find a
printer that will make these to a nice quality - sure I could get
cheapo vinyl run off at £25 - but thats not good enough in my eyes

I've waited 6 months to find a decent quality print, I'll wait
another 6 - but the point is the cabs running, looking reasonable and
playing roby whilst I wait for the CPO. I missed your starting thread
about three duff panels or soemthing - support MY CPO project and
help find a printer so the other 15 pre-order VACers can get theirs
huh!?!
Frankly John... your the UKVAC list-man and consider yourself old-
school... and your talking about skipping *dedicateds* with a clear
conscience???!?!???!? or have I missed the thread and you only posted
this as a discussion point?
Like Dave L says... you dont want... theres a VACer out there begging
for it if its free.
As for Mameing a Robotron.... where this all started.... OK... If it
means a cab dont get skipped, and your not making hacking the cab to
make it fit something else then yeah, a life as a Mame cab is better
than a life as firewood.
I'm not trying to start a flame here - just trying to bang some sense
into a old-schooler's addled brain ;P
