I recently went to the US again and thought i'd post an update of some stuff i went to see :

Insert Coin(s) in Las Vegas - Located on Fremont St. East, off the old strip. Very new looking place, half of it is old/modern consoles with funky seating area and big screens and controllers and the other half is old video arcade machines, with a big island bar in the middle. I went there in the afternoon, it wasn't very happening, but judging by the bouncer and ropes/carpet and the dancefloor at the other end, this place could get busy i guess.
There were some nice classics in here, although quite a bunch had LCD monitor conversions :| Nearly every single one needed the glass removing and cleaning properly, doesn't look like it'd ever been done. A lot of marquee lights were also dead, taking away the impact somewhat! most games were 50c/play and some more depending on age. Looks like they could do with some more recent servicing.

The Pacific Pinball museum in Alameda - Located west of Oakland in East San Francisco bay. Lots of nice machines, arranged chronologically to start off with for the museum part. Great for pinball nuts, all the main pins you'd expect, in several rooms of a storefront property. They have had number of large canvas painted banners in the rooms from various old backglasses, lots of cute ladies! you pay one fee at the door ($15) for a whole days worth of play, you can leave the place and come back at your leisure. Some very very clean machines here, everything largely worked, although it wasn't noisey enough, hard to hear the game you were playing, needed more volume!
