Was looking at getting some speakers for the Neo Geo / Mega Drive stereo jack. Also for Dreamcast VGA box and Vogatek supergun. So all 3.5mm stereo jack

A lot of pc speakers seem to be USB powered now.

Looking for ones that are powered through normal psu.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,
you can put Headphone jack Into any amplifier using a headphone to phono stereo connector.

So you can have any amplifier & speaker combination that you desire,

I like MK speakers.
Bose
Sonos
B & w
Mission
Active speakers have an internal amplifier so no Separate external amp required.
Also consider shielded so doesn’t interfere with your crt tv screen..
Because I guess for stereo the speakers would be best placed left & right next to the tv on stands
A pair of mid range monitors...

a shielded pair of mid range monitors on stands left and right if you telly..

I just got Mackie CR4 speakers for my Vectrex. They're very good and get good reviews, but maybe more than you want to spend (~£100)? Get the version without bluetooth, if you don't need it.

I have a pair of these

Creative Gigaworks T40

and use them in my retro corner for all my consoles. they are amazingly good for their size and have plenty of bass if needed

I'm pretty sure I paid around £65 ish for them and not the price they are at the moment on Amazon lol

Cheers bbz149. Looks pretty serious set up.

Brettster - That's the style of speakers I'm looking for tbh. Dont take up too much room. Lol on the price at the moment. Maybe they'll go down in value again?

Thanks

I've tried loads of small speakers and the Sony SRS-ZX1 speakers are the best compact speakers I've owned by far. I bought mine used off a forum some years back for 50 quid delivered, probably the best 50 quid I've ever spent on speakers.

Dunno how much they go for now but if you see a pair for sale they come highly recommended.
