any mechanics on here?

had a few problems with my MK7 transit smoking this past year

had the EGR valve changed by a 'specialist' when changed he said 'it's stopped a lot of the smoking' er so basically it didn't fix it

he then said all my injectors need doing and he can refurbish them for £380, I declined and drove off

nearly got them out to have a look at them, they are supposed to be a push fit but there quite stiff to get out, any ideas on how to remove them without damaging anything?

also quite oily around injector 3 and 4

need 2 new clamp bolts too

When I have had stuck injectors I undo the clamp bolt a couple of turns the run the engine, as it warms up it usually pops the injector up the clamp, they get stuck when the seals start leaking and burnt carbon gets up the side of the injector.

The oil looks like it is coming from around the injectors, if so does the smoking get better after the first start of the day, if it does then it is probably valve seals leaking, if the smoking stays the same all the time it is probably oil control rings on the pistons

cheers prof,

from a cold start the smoking is not noticable from my wing mirrors, after a good 10 minutes it gets worse, especially around 2000 revs and going uphill, on a flat straight at 60 i can't see any smoke

also definitely lost power going uphill etc

had a guy drive along side me on the motorway, wound his window down and shouted there's smoke coming from my engine (my exhaust kinda stops near enough under my engine, it doesn't pop out the side like normal so probably looked like it was on fire) so I just said gave thumbs up and said cheers, funny thing is I knew what he was going to say before he said it
