Some lovely cars here, a personal favorite is John's S13 I have a bit of a thing for 90s Nissans

Here's mine, owned a few cars over the years, mainly Japanese stuff, but this is the one I have had the longest, owned for around 14 years now its fairly standard power wise at about 230 bhp, but still good fun.

Tasty looking car! if you like your Jap stuff, you may like my old 370HP 240z :)

Rust is a bloody nightmare alright, GTV6 had a bare metal restore done after I got it - I quickly realised my meager skills with a welder weren't going to cut it.. Sent it to specialist in UK to be restored, not cheap but top notch work.

Bit short on storage at the moment otherwise I'd have another, doubt I'd be able to afford another 105 Alfa though :(

Would love a decent Saab 900 or BMW E30 at some stage. Although I'd seen a project Lotus Esprit with an Alfa V6 installed up for sale nearby.... what could possibly go wrong...

25 years ago, mate and me between us had about 20 cars.
We talked for about a year on setting up a restoration/rare parts business, looked at some locations etc.

We saw these days coming, I do regret we didn’t go for it - the appeal of a “proper job” and a regular pay packet got to me.

Loads of Classic Car's I would love to own!! but way too much money now! Wished I'd bought an E30 M3 Convertible when I had the chance! would love a nice clean Porsche 928S 4 and many other Fords ETC.

Well so glad I bought this 1989 BMW Z1 in 2005! as would be hard pushed to find and buy one now!!

Anything old and British really, in various states of roadworthiness:

1275 GT (turbo)

Austin Cooper

Mini Clubman Estate

TR7 V8

dead/gone list (some were too 'new' to be classics at the time of course):

many minis

Spitfire with 2.5PI TR6 engine and so many lightened/fibreglass panels that axle tramp was a standard setting.

Nasty, nasty, rusty, cramped Fiat X1/9

Various gutless Ford Escorts that didn't start in the cold.

Various surprisingly quick Cavaliers that were great until the management computers died

Someone mentioned hankering after a Peugeot 205 GTi? My sister had one when it was fairly new, didn't seem that great when I drove it but obviously would now compared to the 6 foot wide, dimensionally unstable, 0 visibility, million ton lumbering turkeys blocking up the roads. However if you cant stump up for a 205GTi, forget Gavin and Stacey and get yourself an old Citroen Saxo VTR/S as they are similar to but not as great as the 205 and currently the last few non wrecked ones left are pretty cheap, if you can live with the horrible pedal offsets.

PS

That gangsta Metro jacked up hyraulics thing? Yep, that worked on Allegros too, my mate and I ended up having so much fun doing that in a tired Allegro VDP that we put the crankshaft literally through the block -we had it pretty much jumping off the ground up to that point after some practice...

Selling because I've bought this (currently undergoing restoration)!

full_size.jpg

A mate had a few 1.6 205 gti i never thought they were that great not enough power i never knew anyone with a 1.9
The mi16 swap is supposed to transform them

Same with the saxos a mate had a vtr 1.6
That seemed slow as well but the vts is supposed to be quick

both 1.6 engines cars were slower than my xr2i
Which was not that quick either
An handled like a pogo stick Looked cool though

I remember the vauxhall carlton gsi 3 liter 24v being pretty quick years ago
Where did they all go ?

It's a Pulse Litestar. Designed by an american aircraft designer called Jim Bede who also designed the world smallest Jet Plane - the plane used by Bond on Octopussy. The pulse have been in a few films most notably Back to the Future II - there are 3 of them in the hover board scene!

Only about 400 were ever made and there is only one other road legal Pulse in the UK.

I like quirky things and couldn't resist this!

But if you are eagle eyed you should spot a red and a yellow one!

Yeah mine has a Honda Magna 1100cc engine. In it's day the fastest production road bike.

Sounds awesome but haven't had it driving yet... not far off mind you...

There are a few kicking around. I'm a (not very active) member of Autobhanstormers, definitely seen some nice examples in meet photos.

One member had a 3L GSi with the Courtenay turbo fitted. Not sure it's still on the road, but I heard the straight line performance was gut churning.

Mate of mine got a 1000bhp XJS from his local tuning shop. Some guy paid for half of the work to be done; then disappeared off the face of the planet (this was in the late 90s). They asked my mate if he wanted it - after 6 months they "inherited" the car and sold it to him to cover their costs.

There used to be a video on YouTube of it, can't find it right now.

It's unfortunately spent years in his brother's garage since my mate has been working around mainland Europe for the past 10 years. I did offer to take it off his hands, but he said it would a good few grand getting it roadworthy again - and he still doesn't have the heart to part with it!
