What was the fix?I have now resolved this.
Went into the Timings file and change the HZ setting to 60hz for each game I was having issues with. IE Changed R-type from 57.6752 or something like that to 60.0000hz or 59.0000and all working ok. Have done this for NBA Jamm, R-type 1 and 2 Mortal Kombat etc. What was the fix?
Would that not then cause issues with other Roms? You just need to adjust the vertical sync pots in your chassis for those games as they have odd vertical sync of 53 hz.
I can only go on how it feels, I have a Mister aswell and notice very little if any difference at all.Has anyone done a input lag test on these? The pi with pi2jamma is really bad (adds 7 frames of input lag) but I don't know if that is just the pi in general or the pi2jamma.
Sorry we are not talking about pcbs, we are talking about Mame roms on RGB-Pi So it's about finding the happy medium.Yes you have to adjust sync (and width and height) for each game. That's how it is with the pcb's
You say you have mister & rgb - piSorry we are not talking about pcbs, we are talking about Mame roms on RGB-Pi So it's about finding the happy medium.
I use the Mister under my TV as I like to use the Computer cores I use the Arcade cores with a 8bitdo stick and it's great. I use the RGB-pi in my Jamma Cab. I really don't notice any difference In lag between the 2 using this setup. I just dont think the price difference between using a Mister with Mistercade and RPi wit RGB-pi is justified In terms of performance. Of course if money is no object then the Mister would be the preferred option due to FPGA.You say you have mister & rgb - pi
And you don’t feel much difference.
I’m interested to know how the two compare .. could you give a bit more detail on how they compare on terms of video quality & lag ? Cheers
I have rgb-pi & raspberry jamma arpicade . will no doubt end up with a mister set up and just wondered in terms of improvement what to expect?
I actually had a strange experience with r type leo …. Not sure if my pcb doesn’t like my cab .. but I found the rgb pi gave an overall better video out
Than the pcb.
Yeh I have heard people saying you can really tell the difference ..I use the Mister under my TV as I like to use the Computer cores I use the Arcade cores with a 8bitdo stick and it's great. I use the RGB-pi in my Jamma Cab. I really don't notice any difference In lag between the 2 using this setup. I just dont think the price difference between using a Mister with Mistercade and RPi wit RGB-pi is justified In terms of performance. Where are those files stored?Went into the Timings file and change the HZ setting to 60hz for each game I was having issues with. IE Changed R-type from 57.6752 or something like that to 60.0000hz or 59.0000and all working ok. Have done this for NBA Jamm, R-type 1 and 2 Mortal Kombat etc.
I have no ideea. This thing uses the VGA666 DAC for video.Does this do native 15K via the hardware or do you set the O/S to 15K
I have a 15K Vertical image that works on my pi3b with a J-pac to a 15K monitor
Anyone is welcome to the image just PM me.
I was wondering if I could use say a coinops image on the pi and if this would sort out the 15K ?
It is only relevant for Rpi 3 not Rpi 4. You have to FTP into it and they are somewhere in the RPI folder I think.Where are those files stored?
