Is there anyone on here with experience with change machines? I’d like to get one, have seen plenty around but the catch is I want it to dispense the old 1970s 10p coin, most modern ones are for newer 10p, 2p or £1. I’d also want to have it running “free play” so you can press a button and receive 10 coins. Is this even possible? Obviously just for a home game room use :)

I have got a few change machines but don't know that much about them. basically its a coin mech, credit board and payout hopper
1st one I got is 20p payout I think, not sure how many 20p got used lol I mean 2p, 10p pushers so they would be most common. then i got another from local guy that was 2p which is great for pusher machines but it's quite a big deep box so I transferred the internals to the Toy Soldier one I got from AW which was just pile of bits like usual

Probably going to be tuff now finding one that dispenses old 10p as the hopper will need to fit them in, could maybe adapt one if the wheel would fit the big coins in to dispense them
unless our resident hoarder has anything suitable @69er

Thanks Bods !!!! Yes it’s a tough ask !
Can’t think why you want an as said “big” change machine to plug in to freely dispense old 10p coins?
What’s wrong with a dish on a nearby shelf? Just leave the key in the video game cash box door for home use… no cost involved! It’s a home gamesroom!

Actually we helped solve the unemployable of north wales by locking up severely disabled folk on quiet sites and heavily tattoo ‘d ex prisoners on rough sites and young skinheads in an armoured glass box all day with wooden trays to hold coins…. ( where a Thomas or Comestero change machine was too costly) and the pushers didn’t get abused….. by glass bangers!

And it was ‘occupational therapy’ for some of them (and they could let themselves out for a smoke or toilet etc)…and some even got a portable black n white tv to watch daytime tv ? Luxury ! The lucky ones got a nice padded chair too!

However…

We adapted these wall machines Mechanical (non electric) in a couple of arcades to save paying kiosk operators out of season… to suit popular nearby slots. See pics below..

You could adapt a blue old 10p fruit machine tube and pecker to ‘hand milk’ save powering it with 50v just mount on a bracket ? Red 2p one pictured… skipped most of my old fruity stuff now…
Universal coin controls hoppers will dispense all sizes of coin and hold around £70- £80 of old 10p but you need make a circuit board to dispense ten coins at a push of button …24v & 5v reqd from a psu! Some changers just have a mk3 universal hopper mars mech and mars credit board with a ROM set to dispense say 10 x 2p for a 20p at the mech …… and the test button does dispense some coins also… just link to an external push button?

we deal with Smart Hoppers now that have all coins in the one, I believe they are from the fruit machine industry and they are a pile of junk, all we do is go round clearing jams and replacing the feeder and smart hoppers are there so cheap

Was going to ask if anyone here deals with them in Arcade Industry, Innovative Technology make Smart Coin System

Now giving out 2p's for the pusher machines
