Sorry for the radio silence on this project, had to deal with moving our arcade out of our previous premises.

I've had a batch of FFB boards made up and they are now available, only about 16 at the moment and the next batch will likely be the summer as I've got a few other projects needing attention.

Available on our arcade store, with Euro / international shipping options:

I've not put this FFB on github, and it may not be open sourced just yet but my other projects will slowly be creeping onto there, all model 2 hardware based.

Recently released a test rom for model 2 Daytona hardware which you can burn to eproms and it will report if it finds issues with ram, and it can boot without a working IO board attached which can be useful.

Source code and compiler is included on the github:

Upcoming next version (February) will have working 3D geometry, texture mapping tests and a debug monitor tool which can download new executables to program memory via a simple USB to serial interface.

Outstanding work. I've just ordered some 27C1024s to give your test roms a go.

I've got lots of Daytona boards with various issue so hopefully this'll point me in the right direction (y)

And one of the stacks in my twin has started to glitch again. It eats around 1 stack a year  :ROFLMAO:

Apologies for taking so long on this. Been a bit of a troublesome year and had to put my prime work goal on hiatus now since it looks like LockDown 2 is approaching. That's left me with time to work on some of the other smaller projects I've been wrestling with.

The last couple of weeks I've gone and put some design work into making this force feedback board replacement a little more professional. I need to work on the firmware a bit due to changes and adding code for Virtua Racing, of which I now have a twin cab to trial it on. Plus thorough testing on other cabs and working out production and assembly will be the next steps.

There will be two versions based on the same PCB, one with only one channel populated so an individual board can go in either side of a twin unit. Or a two channel version with the entire board populated that can go into Virtua Racing units where one board sits in the back driving the feedback on both sides. The board mounting should fit Daytona and Sega Rally units just fine, but it will be different for VR (although in my cab the PCB is just screwed into the wood with some plastic stand-offs).

I don't have a price just yet but I'll be posting updates on this thread and I'll be getting an online store up and running with this and some other projects I've been working on hopefully in the next couple of months. Might put in a bit of a discount on this project when it's ready for interested UKVaccers! :)

Here's the production prototype for a single side:

Sorry, I’ve been completely overwhelmed with other critical work this last year, I’ve simply not had any time to put into this project and get it out there. I have a second batch done and awaiting final testing which involves giving each board a playtest in my twin Daytona. I have to do that as because although they have all 100% passed bench test, I found one board wasn’t working on a machine because the clutch driver transistor wasn’t pulling enough current. It was switching but the clutch was too weak. A replacement transistor fixed that.

The first batch I largely sold to fellow repairers, trade and arcades. I apologise I didn’t have the time to handle direct to the public sales, I’ll be opening this batch to everyone towards the end of this month (June) and putting some on my ebay store for hopefully making international sales a little easier.

Price will be £120 each which includes UK shipping. Out of UK will be extra for postage. Purchases of two directly from me (not via ebay) and I’ll drop the price to £110 each. Maximum two per customer at this time, I'de prefer the more people to benefit from getting their cabs fixed.

I’ve reserved boards for anyone who has messaged me beforehand who I’ve not got back to. I’ll contact those people in the next coming weeks. Then I’ll post sales links or details on this thread.

In other news, I have a working prototype for model 3 force feedback systems now. I had to work on that to get a bunch of cabs out the door, much the same way I had to do these boards!

Is it possible to still get a set of these sent to the US?
