Sega Model 3 Cab re-builds

Two new arrivals to the collection this last week, I only really intended to buy 1 but you all know how this hobby is

Both machines are pretty much back together now but I'm starting to write it all up as I've been taking a few pics as i've been going.

Stupidly I didn't take any pictures when i collected them, I took them both to pieces and squeezed them into a Chrysler Voyager, I think the Seller Griffo83x thought I was mad.

So first up what do we have.

Daytona 2

Pretty much an empty shell, Hacked Power supply, Original ISO in the back, 90% of the original loom was intact
Side Speakers (thanks to Griffo for selling me his spare set.), broken seat runner.

So missing from initial inspection:
Model 3 PSU
4 channel Amp
DSB2
Low Pass AMP
Servo Drive Board
Motor Drive Board
Complete Stearing panel
Bass Speaker
Gull Wing Speakers
Gull & Bass Speaker loom
Daytona 2 Board Set
Missing Side Art
Monitor Art tatty

I planned on doing this one slowly but to be honest I've already brought 80% of the missing parts which should be here next week

Scud Race

So this is a bit of a mixed bag, fully playable but a few little issues which I intend to fix before I move this on at some point.

for the most part this is an original SCUD Race, but at some point the side panels have been replaced, with those from a Model2 driver, they have also been painted Yellow. underneath they were originally red but I don't want to risk taking the paint off to find tatty sanded down red underneath so for the time being they will stay as they are.

after initial inspection.

Broken Seat Runner
Poorly MS9-29 Monitor (is ok after warm up)
DSB has a broken cable which has been soldered back in place, you currently need to cut cables to remove board set.
Degauss from coin tower not working.

While this is a worker the seat runners are pretty much the first part back on when rebuilding the seat, so for now these are in pieces, hope the runners arrive soon.

Will add some more up later on when i have time.

They are gonna look lovely next to your metal frame Daytona.

I recently uploaded some scanned nos Scud base art and sent the links to muddmusic so hopefully he has them now.

Hi Setchey.

I will be following this thread with interest. I too own a Scud sit down which has a few minor niggles. FFB, seat runners and cosmetics.

I too am doing a photo diary of my refurb which I will get round to posting soon.

The artwork mentioned by Vamino was kindly offered to assist and I'm sure Olly will provide some excellent repros.

Looking forward to comparing notes.

as these are not going for a full restore (stripped & powder coated) at the moment they both went back together fairly quickly.

With the Daytona2 the sides were a bit tatty, scrathed and had no side art

I've never had much luck with plastic polishing as im far too lazy and usually give up after about 10 mins, but I forced myself to spend a few hours on each side and I think they came up ok.

Once this was done I could finally start to get things moving.

While i was waiting for my mate to help throw the monitors back in I figured Id take a look at the Daytona2 base and sort out the wiring.

Pretty hacked in PC supply and most of the original connectors were cut and gone

Dragged out the Whiteboard and started to work out all the pinouts, then created a new set of cables from scratch, I needed M3 power and also output for the rear fans, the scud helped as a reference to double check things.

and then install this and a proper M3 PSU.

Better get on with some work, will update again when I can
