Hi guys i have a sony pgm crt monitor for retro gaming and foolishly had it near a speaker so the right side of the monitor is discoloured. Is there any way to fix this??

It should get rid of the discolouration on it's own eventually. That is, unless the degaussing circuit isn't working or is faulty (stuck on permanently).

I wouldn't say so. I've got a monitor with the same problem and I can't get rid of it completely with a degaussing rod.

I've had joy with other monitors (not necessarily discoloured by magnets), but not this one. Definitely worth trying though.

The wand should do the trick if pressing the degauss button did not clear it. Also note some PGM need to be in the horizontal position for the degauss button to fully work, just in case you happen to have the monitor on it's side at the moment to play vertical games.
