Hi All,
Wondering if anyone can help support me troubleshoot issues I'm having trying to get a Star Wars Arcade machine up and running.
I bought a cab that needed a lot of work and to summarise what I've done:
- WG6100 Monitor
- Repaired and replaced components on the deflector, yoke and HV board including an LV2000, a new Flyback and chassis transistors
- Atari Power Supply
- Replaced Big Blue and fuses
- Star Wars Board
- Replaced capacitors and transistors on Audio Board and capacitors on other boards
- Replaced missing POKEY
I used cap kits from Arcadeshop and Arcadepartsandrepair to do the above using their K6100 kits (inc additional parts) and Star Wars cap kits - I've followed guides and believe I've replaced everything advised to 'bullet proof' the monitor in particular.
I'm now following this guide (How To Bring Up A 6100 Monitor Guide) to bring up the 6100 monitor and I'm at step 5, where I'd need to connect the game board, everything up to that point has been fine. However, when checking the guidance the XOUT and YOUT readings on the Star Wars board aren't in the recommended tolerance.
Tolerance recommended per the guide:
XOUT and XOUT:
DC = between 0-1V
AC = between 2-3V
The values I'm getting are:
XOUT AC = 0V
XOUT DC = -1.298V
YOUT AC = 0V
YOUT DC = +1.223V
As these aren't in tolerance per the guide I'm not feeling comfortable to continue - next step would be to connect the game board to the Monitor.
I've checked the voltages on the Star Wars board and they all seem ok apart from the +10.3VUN which is reading -09.6VDC
Also, the 3 LED's on the mainboard light up and stay lit, these are CR4, CR5 and CR6 - which I don't believe is correct.
Is anyone able to give any suggestions on other things I could try or if there's obvious that I should look out for or check?
