Ok back with a bit more done have been waiting for parts and such and time just flies , took the coin doors off as they were in a real bad state , got them down to bare metal using paint stripper a srewdriver a wire brush and some wire wool, i also straightened out the door edges where they had been broken into at some point , they are now ready for paint and i will be taking them to the powder coaters soon for that leatherette finish

i can now play it properly now its all bolted back together as when i bought it the 2 bolts that hold the steering on were mising and replaced with one wrong bolt , you could pull the handle bars back and forth about a inch, also the throttle was stuck on full so now works as it should :)

I cut them off with a Stanley knife as I was not keeping them, if you want to keep your's I would take the handlebars off and then place the grip that in a bucket of hot water for a few mins , that should loosen them up enough to slide the off :)

i used to work at the place where im going to take them and i know they dont have such a tank, they do have one to remove grease and oil and such it would remove the paint if left long enough but i knew if i prepped them myself it would be done properly
