Taito Space Invaders P2 Moon

[panpar227]

Can anybody confirm what the moon looks like in a Taito Space Invaders P2 mirrored upright?

To me that looks like the Midway SI moon, not the Taito one, but Slowcade here would know for certain.

Looking at this link I'd say neither, but the 2nd one is the closest.

Scroll to the bottom of the link, note the tower is more central.

My mistake, that was indeed a Midway one. I've updated the original post with new images

Good spot, Can anyone with a P2 cab provide a decent photo of the moon?

For the first Space Invaders game remember this.

"Taito meatball, Midway cheese"

For the second game

"Midway air traffic control tower, Taito nopez"

Does playing Space Invaders make you hungry?

Shoot me a PM with your e-mail and I can send you some pics of mine.

Interesting thread! Is there a regular fluorescent tube or black light in SI2? I found that the red background became too dark (almost black) under the blacklight..

Mine has a white black light for the backdrop which are fairly standard for half-silvered mirror games.

Here are some pics of mine:

Thanks for that, that must be quite a rarity over in the states to have a Taito machine!

Is the moon plexi and separate to the backdrop? Also, does it have a slight end in it near the top like the Space Invaders P1 moon?

Do you mean bend? My SI1 has that, I always thought it got bent from the heat.
