[ukvac] tech how do you make a video inverter was tech donkey kong
any ideas on how i go about making one i can etch my own pcbs etc
and i guess i would be using a 74LS chip of some sort

would the following do the job a 74LS02 NOR chip and connecting the inputs
of each gate up to
the red green and blue outputs of the DK pcb and then feeding the outputs of
the LS chip to the monitor rgb inputs

I am thinking along the lines that any signal that is applied to both inputs
of a nor gate is automatically changed to the opposite ..... am i correct?

do i need to use any resistors or capacitors with the above ... i am
guessing a decoupling cap will be needed
but is it just a case of connecting the 74LS chip up to ground and +5V

sorry for all the questions but being relatively new to designing circuits i
am digitally challenged

Thanks in advance for any answer I may get

Mark

I'm sure you could probably do it many different ways - i personally was
thinking of something along the lines of how you would do a sync inversion
involving a 7404, but these two documents (which should be considered FAR
more reliable than anything i could come up with!) seem to be totally
different to that...

7404 would be OK as long as the game in question only used 8 colours (each
colour could only be ON or OFF, no middle levels)

since Donkey Kong uses more than 8 colours then you need something better!
