[ukvac] TECH puckman on a roll
i recently picked up a bootleg puckman board - problem is it
seems to have horizontal sync, but no vertical. i.e. as you look at
the screen vertically, the picture rolls from side to side. - tried
looking for vertical sync on the edge connector, but none to be
found. Anyone got any ideas????

Cheers
Gav

Re: [ukvac] TECH puckman on a roll
bootlegs often have slightly different sync characteristics, and can be a
right bitch to sync up on some monitors.

can you check the board on any other machine/rig ?

my guess is you need to play with the monitor in question for it to play the
board properly.

If its in a cocktail, especially a taito, then those little toei mussan
monitors are good when they work, but i have found consistent problems with
them syncing on certain boards (namely booteg galaxians/pacmans).
From the service manual:

"If the picture drifts horizontally:
- Adjust the setting of the h.hold. If this is innefective, adjust the
horizontal oscillator coil"

this is L5 on CM-R14, use a plastic tool to adjust it

hope it helps, i'm only assuming you're using a cocktail :)
