The only other photos had some fruites in and no more videos. I've been told they were taken in Southsea.

I loved Daytona as a kid and the re-release completely passed me by! Do these ever sell 2nd hand? Which hardware do they use? I take it they are more reliable than an original machine?

Sega Racing Classic is an arcade racing game released for Sega RingWide hardware in 2009. Despite its fairly generic name, it is actually a remake of Daytona USA running at a resolution of 1280x720 and with all references to the Daytona International Speedway removed.
Despite Ringwide hardware being significantly more powerful than Sega Model 2 hardware (which the original Daytona USA was built for), the graphics are mostly identical to that of the 1994 original, with low polygon counts and low draw distances.

A re-release of something like this actually makes some sense, Daytona was very popular, Op's aren't going to keep spending big money on CRT repairs and Old Model2/3 board issues so something new that's on modern hardware means the Op's can have a classic back in there without the problems

Good old sega, even keep the same type Dash, Buttons, Wheel and Shifter, that's really nice to see. Other companies would of made a complete new cab, and usually naff at that

Only thing I don't get is the name, Why not call it Daytona something

Tis surprising non have been coming up for sale, can only think there hasn't been many in Arcades, I haven't seen one I remember

It was in Australia, unfortunately the original thread with the source info/picture seems to be gone :- The outer two inside the room are LAI models. Love the fluorescent tube in the trash and the missing joystick knobs

They were originally designed for Top Speed, but yes, you do wonder where Noddy and Big Ears are.

Manga style cartoon style
& Super deformed… and yeh came out like a noddy car instead 😜
