currently watching one of the biggest collections in the US and Overdrive pops up at 3mins

I prefer the design and imagination of the Electrocoin version that’s for sure !
Similarly when you look at the difference between Beast Busters (EC ) and the US version .

Picked up a spare pcb of Overdrive recently which was lucky as one has developed some graphical glitches.
Will look at second overdrive cabinet this year - needs much more work although complete. Might scan and make a repro of control panel also.

gotta say some of the USA cabs and artwork are quite naff, Atari cabs are fine, cool artwork and decent build

They tend to cheap out on Steering mechs on Taito stuff, Simpson's cab looks much better than UK one, though if I had one the Deluxe would be my choice lol

Is the Deluxe version of the Simpsons seated with the TV aerial ?

Ah that looks much better :D would cost loads to have it re chromed and new decal so its nice to find a replacement, specially these days when parts are harder to find, old one could be sandblasted and painted to use on a mame cab though at worst case as shifter looks ok out of the frame maybe?

The original is pretty toasted, reminds me of one on the Circus I had, was from the barn cab raid

The above board holder was from a parted Goliath I picked up for spares. I think it was a Mark 3 version?
I have not seen the board holder which is in the continental midi before . I also think that the control panel on the midi is different from any version made for the goliath. Originally I thought that perhaps the midi had used parts from other cabinets of the time ie Goliah , midi but the return lip is a right angle and much lower because of the coin entry slot so my conclusion is it was unique to the cabinet.

It's amazing what we do miss sometimes or forget about.

The driving cab on ebay is pretty much a match for WEC Le Mans just one pedal less but same sloping control panel

Big thanks to Rob @rob-udc he has helped me with the ‘Overdrive’ shifter and also the steering badge for my Super Monoco GP. Always amazes me there are nos parts still out there! Not sure if the badge was used on other sega drivers of that time?
Will do a full write up about Super Monoco GP one day ..
Just need an accelerator pedal 😂 and to look at Japanese monitor ….
