Just when you think you've not seen him for a while, he re-appears:

Asked how much he bought the Star Wars Trilogy game for, from an arcade in Blackpool - "I don't want to reveal that" (my guess would be between £350 and £500, maybe less if the arcade was shutting down)

How much do you want for it "I will not go below £2500"

Embarrassing to watch for any arcade collector

Sold for £1000.01

Yep, he's definitely still a knob.

If anybody wants to buy a yellow PAC.....please send me a PM as JT's prices are of course obviously correct.

Cheers,

Al

Sorry, I had to stop watching. Never watched the show before, just angered up the blood.

Also, this "Shaun Clarkson" fella? I saw you coming:

LOL

What makes me laugh is that he's been in the arcade business a long time. He knows exactly how much the cabinet is really worth, and yet when asked about price he makes out it is infinite, almost priceless.

Going back to his original statement "I will not go below £2500". He's happy to accept £1000 because I suspect he's made a (very) decent profit

This is everything that is wrong with this hobby. Grossly inflated prices because of knobs like this.

I remember when he was interviewed in a very early Retro Gamer (as he had raided a blackpool arcade) the one that had been the chosen arcade in "arcade hunt" places you could still go play the classics. JT read the article and was straight down with a lorry, can't remember if he actually says how much he paid, but he took virtually everthing, including some of the crap to ensure he got cheaper prices on the good stuff. This may well have been one of the cabs!

I just watched it. "You can buy a Pacman for £2500"... What?!

That dealer will go on ebay and go "oh..." And the others will go "We dodge a bullet there!"

I think the dealer did not really have a clue what he was buying. Probably was not even aware there had been an earlier Atari Star Wars worth a lot more. To be honest, I think he probably was just going to stick it in his own house. haha. Sadly it is things like this though that people will refer to as a reference point. "What you are offering me £300, don't be silly a guy sold one for for way under its value for £1001 on Four rooms, they said its worth £2k"

There is a knackered sit down where I live, maybe I should get Warwick Davis down to sign it and ebay it for £3k
