Hello UKVACers.

Our new arcade podcast launched yesterday. It's been a long time in the making, but we've finally got there, and now seems as good a time as any to launch, as I'm sure many of us have plenty of time on our hands.

The Ted Dabney Experience is hosted by three Brits: Richard May, Paul Drury and myself - more context can be found on my blog post here.

The aim of the podcast is to build a body of work that documents what we hope are smart conversations with leading lights from the Golden Age of video arcade gaming.

Our first episode is a great discussion with Warren Davis of Q*Bert fame of course. Warren talks about his time with Gottlieb, Williams and his work on Us Vs Them, Terminator 2 and of course Q*Bert along with a host of other subjects.

Episodes 2 and 3 are in the can, and further interviews are lined up in the near future.

To get straight to it, you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or stream directly from the website.

Click here for all the details.

Please tune in and enjoy - if you enjoy what you hear (and I'm sure you will), do feel free to spread the word.

Cheers,

Tony

p.s. We will, of course, be on the lookout for future quality guests - both well known and obscure - if you have any ideas, suggestions or contact details you can share, please drop me a PM!

Good work Tony, really looking forward to these.

And a cracking guest to kick things off. I've just read Warren's autobiography and it's both a fascinating and very entertaining read.

Right... off to download a podcast....

Not yet on Google Podcasts though but Tony says they're working on it

Google Podcasts is a weird one. I think it's a case of waiting for Google to trawl your RSS. I think. I sat staring at Google info for too long yesterday. Apple and Spotify for now, and also on Soundcloud and directly on tdepodcast.net.

The Ted Dabney Experience Podcast Episode 5 is now available.

Either directly at the site, or via all the usual podcast channels.

Mike Hally devoted a quarter of a century to Atari, from the Sunnyvale years through Time Warner, literally turning off the lights when the company (that most of us would recognise) closed its doors for good in 2002. The Ted Dabney Experience talks with Mike about the gentleman’s arcade game, Gravitar, lost classic Akka Arrh, shooting aliens on toilets and of course Atari’s seminal coin-op title, Star Wars.
