That’s what it was .The adds in the computer mags
Why we can’t get away from arcade machines
One stand out add in a computer mag was
Have the supersprint arcade machine in your bedroom
We bought the games and pretended we owned them ,didn’t we ?
I’m just playing my 720 and remembering how much I played it on the spectrum .tape blasting
Now I need to move it up to the bedroom
Arcade machine in your bedroom was the dream .wasnt it ?

Yep, I seem to remember a number of ads actually featured a picture of the arcade cab itself in all its glory that the conversion as based on. I also remember those ads in some mags saying "Win an arcade machine". I think there was one offering a Terminator 2 cab for a prize. Also one that offered and Amiga and one of those massive 37" Toshiba crt tvs, and one for a Simpsons pinball.

I still can’t get my head around who thought porting Dragons Lair to a C64 would be a good idea 😂 A full blown animated cartoon squeezed into an 8 bit home computer . I mean what did we expect . The pinnacle of the madness.

Most ports were poor to OK …at best . There were a few superb conversions - Bubble Bobble on the C64 was as good as you could have wanted really - looking, sounding and playing very like the arcade.

What I wanted and what I got
I had the spectrum version which I enjoyed
So with the master system being the dream system for me at the time, surely it could be like the spectrum ,but with colour and music
I couldn’t wait
I think I completed it on first go or second
I got my dad to take it back to Woolworths and changed it for fantasy zone 2 ,paying an extra couple of pounds
It was superb and gave many hours of fun
