This Sunday I'm flying to Sunnyvale in California and will be there for a few days on business. Anyone know where I can lay my hands on some bargain retro / arcade stuff whilst i'm there (obviously nothing too large or heavy)? Or any places I should visit to maximise my arcade / retro gaming exposure?

Depending how much time you have and how far you're willing to drive, there's the Musee Mechanique in San Francisco, CA and High Scores arcade in Alameda, CA. I haven't been there in years, but there's a Nickel City arcade in San Jose with a free play area with some classics (likely to be in various states of disrepair

).

There's a place called 8-bit Gamers in Santa Clara that I have yet to visit, that sells retro games: http:// www.yelp.com/biz/8-bit-gamers-santa-clara-3?osq=retro+video+games

EDIT: Fixed link!

Cheers! I'll be sure to visit 8-bit gamers as I'm not too far away.
Went to the musee mechanique 2 years ago and played on the Death Race there. Great place.Nes4life2014-12-05 19:34:26

Maybe visit this guy who lives in California. I'm sure he'll show you around and make you welcome
